Who We Are
Henry County Humane Society is a non-profit all volunteer organization. We are licensed by the Georgia State Department of Agriculture.

Adopting a Friend

All of our animals are up to date on their shots, dewormed, and are spayed or neutered by a local veterinarian prior to adoption (Pediatric spaying and neutering is performed on puppies and kittens as young as 8 weeks old). All dogs are heartworm negative. All cats and kittens are feline leukemia (Felv) and feline AIDS (FIV) negative.

Potential adopters must complete an application including vet references. Fenced yards are required for large dogs and some smaller active breeds. ADOPTIONS ARE LIMITED TO THE METRO ATLANTA AREA.

If you see an animal that you are interested in, please download and complete a Preliminary Application Form. This application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the animal. If your application is approved, one of our volunteers will contacted you via phone or email.

Donations
Donations may be mailed to HCHS at P.O. Box 941, McDonough GA 30253. Donations are tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. You may also make a donation by clicking on the PayPal donation button below.

Directions & Hours
Adoption hours are Saturdays from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and by appointment during the rest of the week.

Our shelter is located at 46 Work Camp Road in McDonough.

From I-75, take Exit 218 and head East on Hwy 20/81 (Hampton St) toward the McDonough Square. Turn right onto Phillips Drive. Take an immediate right onto Work Camp Rd. The shelter is the first building on the right.

Henry County Animal Control's website provides a summary of animal control ordinances in the county and provides information about adopting animals available at the shelter.

We use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a bed to us, click here.
