Who We Are
Henry County Humane Society is a no-kill 501(c) (3) non profit animal shelter licensed by the Georgia State Department of Agriculture. We work closely with our local animal control facility to help reduce their numbers and find suitable homes for pets who have found themselves impounded and unwanted.
Adopting a Friend
Click here to see the cats and dogs we have for adoption.
Our animals have been given age appropriate vaccinations, are spayed/neutered, dewormed and had capstar and/or frontline applied. Dogs are heartworm negative and microchipped. Cats are feline leukemia (Felv) and feline AIDS (FIV) negative. Pediatric spaying and neutering is performed on puppies and kittens as young as 8 weeks old.
Our previously adopted friends can be seen on our Happy Tails page found here:http://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?shelter_id=GA08&sort=identifier&status=X
Potential adopters must complete an application including vet references. Fenced yards are required for large dogs and some smaller active breeds. ADOPTIONS ARE LIMITED TO THE METRO ATLANTA AREA.
If you see an animal that you are interested in, please download and complete a Preliminary Application Form. This application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the animal. If your application is approved, one of our volunteers will contact you via phone or email.
We depend entirely on donations, fundraisers and adoption fees to support our organization. We do not receive tax dollars, government funding, or funding from any national humane organization.
Please consider making a donation today. Donations may be mailed to HCHS at P.O. Box 941, McDonough GA 30253. You may also make a donation by clicking on the PayPal donate button below. Henry County Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity organization.
